Proud to be Apart of the P&O Pioneer Launch
Uplands was honoured to be entrusted with the task of modifying and installing the champagne smasher for the grand launch of the P&O Pioneer in July 2023. This milestone event marked the debut of the P&O Pioneer as the first hybrid diesel/electric ferry to operate in the English Channel.
In the aftermath of the launch, Uplands Engineering has remained steadfast in providing ongoing support to the vessel’s operations, specifically on the Dover to Calais route. Our dedicated team has successfully navigated numerous engineering challenges, showcasing our commitment to ensuring the seamless functionality of this pioneering ferry. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the sister ship, the Liberty, and the prospect of further contributing to its success.
